When I have time I love to complete 30 minutes- 1 hour study or explorations, where I just do whatever I think I'm feeling during the day. This has helped me grow, but it also helped find which things I enjoyed.

These days I really like to concentrate on color, light, and also how to describe textures in a simple way so that I don't need to get too specific with everything. I usually draw my forms very close to the real world However, as time goes on, I'm looking to make shapes move further and become more artistic with my work.

When I start a painting, typically, I like laying out my main shapes at first, whether in BW, or simply straight using the color. If I think it's essential first, I begin with linework initially. When I've got a solid basis, I will map in the light shapes and shadows on layers. Not until then do I begin to create or render the image generally moving from large to tiny particulars.

For Streets of London painting I utilized a similar technique. In order to have clear edges and to keep the painting neat, I made use of a number of layers. Additionally, I had the main light layer on another layer.

The layers make me less worried about making mistakes, but when I'm comfortable with the stage I'm in with the work, I'll begin to combine a couple of elements, but only keeping what I feel is essential.

For me, colours are often a "feel" factor, so I simply go with those that feel right. There are a variety of references that I look at for help in choosing the perfect colours. Sometimes I blend references but sometimes I just use one.

It's definitely beneficial to learn about the theory of light and colour, to know the limits you can do to make your global color palette and the values more pronounced.

It's a bit difficult for me to say what the most important thing I do to create my art... I simply like exploring different styles, mediums and subject matters and get in the spirit of others artists.

I'm only a few months into my art journey and continue to try to figure out my identity as an artist and what my style is. The main difference nowadays is that I don't have to think about it nearly as much as I did in the past and I believe that's made an enormous difference.
