Social Learning ROI -

Dec 16, 2022

One reason why some companies are still not sure about taking advantage of online learning is because it's hard to determine how effective the programme is.

The task is a little difficult, however not impossible.

Yet, this could act as an obstacle (or at the very minimum an excuse to delay the introduction of an e-learning program). There is no surprise therefore that programs for social learning fall further from the top of the list.

Until now!

The team of Showd.Me have put together a fantastic infographic that details the data and facts related to social learning as well as ROI.

While the presentation is somewhat bent to emphasise the program's distinct features, the information included in the graphic does provide some argumentative arguments for social learning programmes in place traditional training methods.

The benefits of social learning are evident. People learn best from their colleagues, and the social element adds engagement than many of the online courses available.

Of all the details presented in this graphic, the most striking aspect for me is in relation to retention of employees. Many employees do not consider retention of employees as a signpost of ROI that is positive However, when you dig deep into the subject, it starts to appear sensible.

The cost of hiring employees is a significant amount of money. Searching, interviewing on-boarding and training takes an enormous amount of resources. If an organization's turnover rate is very high, they're committing a significant amount of time and money to recruitment of talent. Social learning is a different matter, but, it is less likely to occur, so there's a drop of spending in the area.
