On the 17th of July in 2020, Jessica Wilson was diagnosed as having Stage 3 the inflammatory breast cancer. She was 32 years old and didn't have a relative or a history of being a carrier for breast cancer.
"I go to my oncologist's clinic for my initial appointment, and discover that this doctor has the same enthusiasm for keeping me healthy like me." Jessica remembers. "He showed up to my appointment 40 minutes late -- no explanation, no apology."
"Immediately my brain switches into the survival mode. If you do not think about whether you should or shouldn't, my decision-making is at your discretion ... There is no doubt that I am in the need of changing my ways. I immediately started speaking up and making my complaints known to anyone who would listen such as my doctor who recommended me and to my breast surgeon as well as to everyone elseI said - "Hey it's not working for me.'"
Her doctor was always pushing an established course of treatment. "Maybe my situation isn't standard," Jessica thought. "Maybe I should think out of the box."

"I took a look around and saw that I've needed to speak up on behalf of myself" Jessica explains. "When you look at all the people around you it becomes apparent that you need to be advocating for yourself in every situation."
The focus of her idea was the three areas where she thinks self-advocacy can have the most influence on medical, employment and personal relationships.
To tackle these challenges, Jessica launched her coaching company, Advocacy Alley.

Now, Jessica helps members of the marginalized communities to gain confidence and be confident in them in every aspect of their life. Jessica is also known by the name Jess the IE as an "industrial engineer by trade and the guru of intuitiveness through the power of love".
"I manage finance at an important retailer of home enhancements as well as taking the job as a second job. As I'm extremely passionate about the one field, the other one has greater passion. "I decided that I would like to create a strategy for people to secure themselves to ensure that their minds aren't jumbled, no matter what the cause is," Jessica explains.
