How to get out of the craziness of coaching -

Jun 21, 2024

The majority of coaches I have spoken to feel overwhelmed by all the things they have to do.

It's not easy to determine whom their ideal client is.

They have too many offers.

They are too busy to try and get the attention of others and to generate leads.

It's not easy for them to figure out how to enroll people into their programs.

They use too many different softwares that they have to glue together with zaps and rubber bands.

They work too hard for their clients and burn out even though they are passionate about their coach.

Do any of these resonate with you?

There are three types of overwhelm that I routinely see coaches suffer from:

Strategies that overwhelm

Overwhelmed Client

Systems overwhelm

Let's take a look each one at a.

Strategy overwhelm

When it comes to strategies, the majority of coaches have several offers. They're performing too many activities in an effort to get the attention of leads and gain their interest, and often they can't decide which type of customer to go after.

There's also a lack of clarity of how they'd like sell to draw people into their programs.

At first, you're going to be experimenting. That's okay.

You really need to nail your Five Ones.

Five Ones: The Five Ones say that if you are focused upon...

One avatar

One traffic source

One offer

One enrollment mechanism

One year

One million dollars in revenues.

When you've reached your million dollars, don't even think of adding a second avatar, a second traffic source, a second advertisement, or even a different enrolling mechanism.

Coaches who aren't making enough money to pay the salaries they'd like think they need to add more offers as well as more items, avatars, more traffic sources ... everything to expand their reach to draw in more customers.

In the opposite in fact the situation.

You need to narrow down. You must be precise. Choose.

It's about taking the correct decision.

The key is to make a decision, and making it right.

There is a way to make one of them work.

Pick one, and stick on it until you've reached the million-dollar mark.

I am aware of how difficult it can be.

With the right guidance and guidance, you absolutely will be able to make them work.

If someone else has succeeded in this way, then it's possible.

Then it's just figuring out the details.

Clients Overwhelmed

As much as our coaches are passionate about coaching and adore our clients, sometimes it can be a bit much.

If you're putting in lots of one-on-one work with clients, it's not hard to get burned out.

You find yourself saying these same phrases over and over again.

You know this feeling of incredible energy coming out of your body during an interview, and you I don't even be able to pinpoint the source. The sensation is fantastic!

But now you're bummed that a lot of people will not have the opportunity to listen to your dazzling story since you're speaking that in a personal one-on-one session!

Some coaches not only do one-on-one work, but are as well doing work on behalf of the clients. It's a done-for-you model.

You can raise your rates so you earn more money to coach and maybe take on fewer clients.

But it's fundamentally not scalable.

The most scalable method is to do group coaching.

Develop a program for groups that allows you to collaborate with your customers simultaneously.

Templates, frameworks as well as live group coaching and even a community.

They get not just you, but they also get one another.

That means that since the amount of clients increases, so too does the value of your program.

If you're currently not doing group coaching, or if a group coaching program is not the core of your organization, it should be your top priority and should be your "One Offer" within your Five Ones.

Systems Overwhelm

These days, it's quite common to own five, seven, nine or even more tools to manage your coaching business.

Website host similar to Wordpress or Wix

Software for marketing emails or ESP (Email Service Provider) such as MailChimp or ConvertKit

Carts for shopping such as Shopify or Samcart

Course platform or LMS such as Teachable or Kajabi

Video hosting such as Vimeo or Wistia

Funnel software, or a page builder like ClickFunnels or LeadPages

Community-oriented software like Circle or MightyNetworks

Scheduler such as Calendly or SavvyCal

Survey Tool such as TypeForm, or SurveyMonkey

Tracking tool for affiliates like Tapfiliate or Post Affiliate Pro

Sales Pipeline like Pipedrive or Close.com

CRM such as Hubspot or Ontraport

   Zapier to tie them all!

There's some overlap on this list since certain of these tools can do more than one thing.

However, there are other terms that are commonly used that I didn't include.

You see the list gets rather long quite quickly.

It not only adds up to a hefty each month, but it also adds up to a huge.

It also adds a lot of additional work and mental bandwidth for you.

Then there's the fatigue of having to choose between all of these options.

Each category is represented there are many alternatives that each has the advantages and disadvantages Some cover multiple categories.

They must be evaluated each, and then choose which one you'll use Then figure out what they'll do when integrated with the other stacks you have.

Then comes the real connection.

Do they talk natively to each other, or are you required to utilize Zapier for them to "zap" them?

Another issue, and the connections are brittle.

They'll fail, especially when you're on vacation, and it's the responsibility of you (or your team if you have one, and if they're able to solve the issue) to repair it.

Then there's the psychological bandwidth that comes with having to switch between the programs, with each having a slightly different approach.

This causes a lot of contextual switching, where you must change your the way you work every couple of minutes.

If your logo appears in more than four places then it's time to look for a smarter alternative.

With NO zaps.

No glue.

There are no rubber bands.

All your business operations in all in one location.

It's like finding your home along the border.

All the components communicate seamlessly with each other.

The clients you have on your database only need to enter their information only once and then you will already have their information within your database.

Connect your opt-in form to them scheduling a strategy session with you.

Easy. Clean. Simple.
