Creator's StoryHow the creative mind works. From the creators of CreativeMindClass.

This is our first interview with Canadian-based illustrator, designer, and creative instructor Maia Faddoul. Maia is the first generation Canadian artist who is based out of her Montreal studio. She draws vibrant and vivid illustrations for editorials, packaging publication, and much more. Her style is high-contrast, vibrant, and striking, often with a subtle political message hidden somewhere.

Maia is an absolute color lover and a bit of a maximalist when it comes to her artistic style. Maia utilizes her work as a vehicle to share her beliefs, speak out on injustices, and bring consciousness to causes that mean a lot to her. Check out her Instagram as well as her Etsy store where she sells her fun floral earrings. We invite you to dive deep into the thoughts and creative process from Maia Faddoul.

My style of drawing as "High Contrast'.

My style is bright, vibrant and high contrast, often with a subtle social justice message hidden somewhere. I'm an absolute color lover and kind of a maximalist in my artistic style.

What is the key for creating illustrations?

A major aspect of my art is to create art that reflects my beliefs as well as my values. I'm not the most outspoken or extrovert, therefore I tend to use my art as a vehicle to communicate my beliefs, speak out about injustices and spread awareness of causes that matter a significant amount to me.

    Educator + Illustrator + Designer

Mai a Faddoul

I'm a first-generation Canadian artist, working as an illustrator and designer from the Montreal Studio. After studying both illustration and design at college and university, I now work across a range of areas making use of both my streams of knowledge to produce stunning and vibrant illustrations for packaging, editorials and publishing, and more.
