Ever since her early days as a young child, New Zealand-based maximalist artist and interior design consultant Evie Kemp was a lover of the arts and design. "I would be drawing all the time and designing my dollhouse or watching makeovers of rooms on the television." In her teens, Evie says, "I became really insecure about being  different, and was willing to do anything to stay out of the spotlight."

That urge to fit in was what led her to law school, but during her time in law school, "my mental health became poor," Evie says, "and I had to take 6 months off. As I began to recover I focused my attention on figuring out what I actually like, and then I decided to go to school for graphic design rather than." The return to her early passion for art was life-altering. "It was through that degree that I was able to truly find my voice and embrace the many quirks I'd held down for a long time."

In the 15 years since making that decision to focus on improving her skills for the field she's passionate about. Evie's self-confidence and her artistic voice have helped her to establish her own business. "I discover more and more that I'm more confident and colorful and creative than ever," she says. "It's similar to the old "Which was first: the egg or the chicken question: I don't know whether I become more secure and at ease with myself the more my work becomes more exuberant and vibrant, or if it's actually reversed. It's not like my style is "developed" but it's still developing."

The style of Evie shines through her bold aesthetic that's filled with bright colors and mixed patterns. Read on for Evie's tips on creating an online identity which reflects your personality, developing an audience-driven content strategy, and then using it the power of multiple streams of income easily.

Create a distinctive "you" web site

How and where to present your presence online is vital to the growth for any business or creative. In the words of Evie puts it: "For me, my web page and my social media accounts are my 'face.' In a digital world, it's my website that represents me and has to impress and convince others of my knowledge."

A brand-name website that reflects you and what you offer isn't only important, as the presence of a distinctive brand helps to distinguish yourself from competitors. It's also important to accurately represent your style, and to attract the types of customers, clients or audience who'd best connect to your brand.

Create a site that is as efficient as it is eye-catching

Another thing that is essential one of the most important features for Evie is an announce bar that welcomes visitors at the top of every page of her site. "My website features a lot of material, and it's really good to instantly highlight certain items!"

She appreciates that these features can "take only a moment to update, but keep my site current functioning the best it is able to."
