Motion Graphics - The CreativeMindClass Blog
What's your story?
"My name is Sylvia Boomer Yang. I'm an illustrator, animator, and GIF artist from Brooklyn, New York. In my work as a professional I make animations, motion graphics and storyboards for explainers, videos, and mobile apps. However, what I truly enjoy doing in my spare time is make funny and fun cartoons and stickers that can make anyone smile, and allow them to communicate their ideas."

"I have a family in Taiwan and started with high school for fine art as a child. I always enjoyed drawing, but slowly I got stuck in a strict education way of life. I was feeling like I couldn't express my own identity and voice using traditional tools of art. Learning about fine art definitely helped me to build the foundation for where I am today."

"I changed to design school in college, and then moved into New York for grad school. That's when I began experimenting with digital animations as well as animation. Animation provided me with the capability to mix illustrations and motion in order to convey a message in a dynamic method. I really enjoyed learning how I could make still images come to life."

What would you say about the style of your animations?
"I often love to express myself through fun, colourful and quirky designs. My belief is that smiling is the best way to evaluate the quality of work. "

What is the key for creating animated graphic?
"I enjoy working with a a sense of humor plus emotional energy that helps people feel connected, playing with different mediums and creating my own unique style of design. The process of designing can be really fun!"

"Collaboration/teamwork is one of the keys I evaluate a lot. I enjoy how people come up with ideas as a team, and also believe that the best work is usually made by a collection comprised of individuals with diverse strengths and skills.
In daily life, I'm not going to stop making things that keep me inspired. When not designing motion graphics, I could be seen making a chaos in my kitchen (lots of cooking) or making crafts. I often go to Brooklyn farmers markets and experiment using various recipes at my home. There is a world full of magical things, I love to travel and explore different cultures, new communities, as well as innovative art."
