In the calculation of MRR, ARR and MRR

Previously the process of upgrading, downgrading, as well as add-ons, were sometimes not tracked or handled correctly with respect to subscription reports. The issues were addressed, and now calculations will improve in the coming years.

What are the changes I should see at My Store?

If you're a frequent user of upgrades, downgrades or other add-ons You may notice that the MRR and ARR change slighty due to the newly updated calculation. These calculations are more accurate than the previous ones, thanks to the fixes that have been identified. If you are still unsure, please reach out to [email protected].

The past is a part of history. MRR Changes

Prior to this, we would use dates of activation as a way to look for cancellation date and would then remove MRR contributions, which had the unintended side effect changing the historical MRR values. To solve this problem, we've improved our analysis to record cancellation events that occur on the day that cancellation occurs and eliminate MRR contribution at that time.

Example of Changes

Let's take an example of an annual subscription that was activated in January 2023, canceled in May 2023, and then deactivated in December 2023. The prior MRR contribution calculation wouldn't have changed until December 2023, potentially altering the MRR contribution for the period between May and December 2023.

With the date from the example above this calculation instantly takes away the MRR contribution from the subscription starting at the end of May in 2023 which results in a more precise MRR changes calculation.

What Changes Should I See at My Store?

In the case of some sellers, this might result in an increase in the number of cancellations and lower MRRs for subscribers and customers who are active. If you have questions about this report, you can contact us at [email protected].
