Stellantis' power is empowering limitless learning via video

"We are within the top five automotive makers in the world," states Phil Price, Head of The Performance Academy, Stellantis. "As the learning and development sphere grew, we very quickly realized that it's everything about the training we give our workers to boost their efficiency." So, The Performance Academy was created.

Based in the automotive capital of England The team at The Performance Academy produce thousands of hours of training content to Stellantis employees. However, in order to keep up with the ever-growing number of employees They needed a replicable method of sharing details with employees across the world. "We've invested a significant amount of time analyzing what people are looking for in their learning," says Phil. "Video-based virtual instruction is the future."

A member of the community for more than an decade, the group is always aware of the benefits of video. To that end, Stellantis is shifting their attention away from in-person towards a fully online strategy. "With face-to-face training the requirement is to duplicate the same training 10 times, with the expense of 10 different costs," he says. "With video, there is unlimited possibilities."

Learning without limits

"We are able to access, on average, about 350 hours of resources available during a week," notes Phil. "Behind that 350-hour period, we've probably had tens of thousands hours of content we've established and developed in the past 12 years."

This library of information ensures that every employee is able to learn at the time and place that is most suitable for them. "Our training is available 24/7," he adds. "That's vital, since there are people taking this on their own terms as they are aware that it's going to enhance their performance."

Powerhouse Productions

The Performance Academy is now The Performance Academy is expanding to provide live streamed live on a regular basis, from sales trainings to board-level communication. For this to happen, The Performance Academy has continued to invest into their production capabilities which is a miniature Hollywood studio in the heart of Coventry, England.

"Look at where we're today," says Phil. "We're in our own studio. We're in the position to generate an overlay animation, create anything we'd like to. Everything you see in a movie, we can now do in The Performance Academy."

With the latest production tools and a crack group of L&D specialists, The Performance Academy uses the power of production, hosting and share their works. "As the learning and development field has expanded, the company has continued to develop the methods of delivery, model as well as reporting methods," says Phil. "We've greatly benefited from this."
