"One of my hobbies is keeping up-to-date about the latest technology going on in the business and tech worlds," starts Keith Andade who has worked in software as an service (SaaS) for seven years.

He was a student at Baruch College, a business school in Manhattan While he was there, he absorbed many things about business that be in sync with his love of technology. "The two are intertwined," he discovered. " The businesses of today must rely on technology for success in order to expand and grow. It was cool realizing the way these technologies work."

In the following years, he began working for a health insurance as well as payroll business. "Previously there was nothing but pen and paper, and filing cabinets, and [the new company] were completely disrupting the industry," he recalls.

Then he was employed at monday.com as well as ones.com, selling project management software to businesses. "I enjoyed it. But I realized in order to conduct a productive conversation with my clients I had to be able to do more than only understand the technology but not only understand how their company is run, but also be current with the latest trends."

Keith would spend his spare time scouring the internet and finding articles in order to send them to his family and friends. "I decided, 'I don't want to keep sending them articles every day on something I find intriguing'. So I created the news text service in order to give a quick update on what's going on." Keith created an automation with Zapier along with ChatGPT to find interesting the articles that he enjoys, then summarize them into concise bullets, and then send them as a text message to subscribers," Keith explains.

Social media's problems

"Our customers love social media. Everyone does - it's that immediate gratification" Keith continues. But the problem with social media is it takes all of your time. You may use TikTok to find some short news clips You could utilize Instagram and follow your favorite celebrity to get a daily images of the latest news, but the issue is that every time you start an application, you're exposed to other ideas and beliefs which are automatically displayed in your newsfeed."

Keith believes that the benefit for The Morning Byte is it eliminates the intrusion of any another content that is competing for your interest. "It's a text message; You can access it at any time you'd like. It's your freedom back," he explains.

Some readers look at it in the early morning. Others skim it at lunchtime. "The concept is to be in charge of your time and attention. When you're on social media, you have to get through the noise and find what you want. Social media is a sucker and it wastes your time. The time we spend is the most valuable thing that we possess," Keith adds.

It is said that social media is not an incentive to improve our lives. "It's an excellent way to stay connected but the purpose isn't just to stay connected but to stay connected, isn't it?" he asks. "I go through my newsfeed with all the ads or it's businesses paying to post their stuff."

Prior to coming up with the business model for The Morning Byte, he noticed another customer, The New Paper, was doing something really similar however, it was in the realm of political news. Keith recognized an opportunity.
