The Biggest Flaw with Articulate Rise

Dec 9, 2022

The entire presentation is quite amazing. This presentation is equally matched by the changes they have made to their line of goods.

Since the beginning, Articulate has been known for Articulate Studio, Articulate Storyline, and a smattering of other software designed to make it easier for educators to design their courses.

They have now added a thrilling mobile-learning component to Articulate Rise and it looks great..., or at least looks good when you look at it from a distance.

From one perspective, the product appears great and, If it's anything like other Articulate products, the learning curve will be very minimal. But when you look under the hood, you could be shocked at the things you can see (I know I was).

This is a big deal.

This is significant because the adoption by industry of Tin Can API has been an uphill struggle given how firmly the SCORM model has been ingrained in the marketplace. If one of the biggest companies in the industry fails to use Tin Can API for their latest offering, it is doing the field of e-learning an enormous disservice.

I haven't found any information that indicates Tin Can API is on the Rise roadmap (if you do have a clue, please post it in the comments) However, it's absurd to not include it right from the beginning in all honesty.

I'm left to think what the reason is for releasing a cutting-edge software that doesn't include cutting-edge reporting technology?
