Jan 6, 2023

Millie Adrian is on a goal to show new social media influencers on how to earn money from Instagram.

Her enthusiasm for the creation of new content started early. in 2008 she launched an YouTube channel along with her younger brother. The channel was active for nine years. "It was purely for fun," she says. "We created absurd videos, skits and mock-ups and tried out different ways to live ."

Following her new job at a corporate company in her 20s, she was bored with the artistic outlet that making videos gave her -- so much so that she decided to try giving it a go Instagram blog to complement her work. She advertised herself as a lifestyle blogger  with a blog that published "anything and everything" sharing photos of food, fashion traveling, coffee books, wine, as well as her dog.

The account she used, @itsmodernmillie quickly increased in popularity and , before she knew it she was repeatedly asked questions by followers. Many wanted to know what was driving her growth and how she was able to take particular photos and the method she used to gain an amount of engagement. In order to provide her viewers with relevant information, she decided to start another YouTube channel. In the span of time, Instagram's teaching was her focus.

"My YouTube began to increase in popularity after which my Instagram was expanding as well, which created an all-encompassing snowball effect aiding other users," she explains. "I decided to see which one was most effective before choosing to choose the one I had found to be profitable. However, they all connected organically ."

In October of 2019 , she quit her job with a corporate company and began to be a prolific creator of material. Since then, she's amassed an Instagram following of around 117K. She also has an YouTube channel that boasts 246k followers and -- since the introduction of online courses in 2021, she has enrolled 600 students in the course and made more than $400,000 USD. "Next year, I'd like to make 7 figures." the actress says with a smile.

Here are 10 ways she made more than six figures in the first sixteen months of selling course materials:

Skip ahead:

  1.       She followed her gut
  2.       She's launched three courses
  3.       She conducted market research in order to find the price that was the most effective.
  4.       She developed her content according to the needs of the viewers. desired
  5.       She continues to improve her students' experience
  6.       She was very generous with her information
  7.       The designer created a basic funnel for sales
  8.       The instructor offered gratuities with each class.
  9.       She fought off burnout
  10.       She remains constant

     She followed her gut

When she was working for her business, Adrian created content for Instagram and Youtube at times on weekends. It helped revive her sense of creativity, and she began wanting to do more of it.

Although she was content with her 9-5 job however, she noticed a strong "gut sense" about her going to go on. "I could not sleep as an inner voice in me said to that I had the potential of achieving more," she shares. "I believed there was something more than me waiting to be discovered ."

She made the decision to quit her job because she was always earning more than half of the money she earned in her position at work by producing content. "Everyone is going to have various requirements to make this change," she says.

Once she was able to achieve the goal she took a break from her job and entered the realm of self-employment on the 4 2019. With an enthusiastic following as well as plenty of time spare, she decided that the next step on her path was an creating an online class.

She has launched three different courses

Now, Adrian has three courses including The Modern Influencer which is her highest priced course at $997 USD. Email List 101, which is her mid-priced course at $297 USD. It is also known in The Reels Roadmap. This is the course with the lowest cost, with the price being just $97 USD. Each of her courses teaches students how to develop as an online creator of content but The Modern Influencer course is what she focuses on most.

In the beginning, the business named The Modern Influencer -- which she started in July of 2021. It was initially a 6-week coaching meeting that was $597. Then, she decided to transform the course for groups into a three-month, one-on-one coaching program. But, Adrian soon learned she wasn't equipped with the ability to train hundreds of individuals one-on-one. Then she decided to transform The Contemporary Influencer into a pre-recorded training instead.

In her search for the best online course hosting service her attention was drawn by her prior experience of a variety of online classes, while a student was among her top options.

"From the perspective from a student, this is the most effective method of learning and also the most simple."

In addition to offering three courses, she offers additional resources for upsells at checkout to boost the revenue she makes. These include Pitch Email Templates, Pitch Slide Deck Template, as well as the Kit Guide to Media Kit Guide, and 100+ Caption Ideas.

She conducted market research to determine the right pricing

When it came to pricing the Modern Influencer, she did market study. She was interested in finding out what other authors charged for similar courses. She also evaluated her class against what they were offering. "I examined what they taught and also the subjects I taught in greater detail," she says.

"I could not find a class that taught the use of Instagram and collaborations with brands, so my course included both in one," continues Adrian. "That's what allowed me to decide on the right price ."

The content she created was crafted as per the demands of her readers. They wanted

Adrian designed her courses, not based on the things she wanted to instruct, but on what other courses were lacking.

Participants were asked if they'd ever taken a course on Instagram, and what information they'd like to have learned but weren't. Then, she created The Modern Influencer's syllabus by "brain-dumping" everything that she had written on sticky notepads. "The table was a total messy mess of sticky notes" she says with a laugh.

They were laid out starting with the letter A through Z. They included everything necessary for someone to go from knowing nothing about Instagram to being the full-time creator. Each A to Z concept turned into modules and other sticky notes were transformed into lessons. While she says this class is primarily focused on Instagram but it's not over and each year, she'll introduce new classes. In addition, she could see herself adding lessons on YouTube and TikTok as they're what the users are asking for.

Her courses are taught using different media types that she switches between videos, her speaking slideshows or slide slideshows, as well as screen recordings. "It is all about the subject and what I think learners can absorb the content," she says.

Furthermore Her videos are recorded in advance. There is only an occasional Q&A session that she hosts on her Facebook page.

She continues to improve her students' experiences

The Facebook group Facebook is where The Modern Influencer students are added. They have lifetime access to the group, and the group has a forum in which students can post any queries concerning the creation of content.

Apart from the Facebook group She's also played around with several methods to ensure that everyone is involved with The Modern Influencer She's considering the creation of a Modern Influencer certification that will prove they've taken the course and is recognized as an influencer. Furthermore, she'd like connect those who've completed the certificate to brands through a PR listing. "I do not want to become an agent. I want to assist people in taking that next step," she says.

Also, she would like to give her students the chance to join as affiliates for the course, in which case Adrian will reimburse students for an amount of their tuition cost by referring people. "Those are just a couple of ideas we're examining as we try to come up with the most effective strategies to implement next year's course,"" she elaborates.

She was generous by sharing her knowledge

Her audience is aspiring influencers, or in other words, people who make content and would like to represent their brand online.

"I do not consider myself a business or other individual who doesn't want to stand in front of a camera because a substantial portion of the strategies I implement is on how to create an emotional connection to your viewers through the lens," she says.

Similar to her students, creating Adrian's audience required going beyond her comfort zone, however she states, "you don't grow from your familiar zones."

She claims she's built her fan base by investing in her as well as her studies. "For some time, I attended free webinars and analysing how other people's actions were being done," she says. "I immediately saw transformation as I purchased online classes in order to achieve the results I was looking for ."

The first thing she can do to assist content creators to build their reputation is being kind with the information they wish to impart and believes creators should not be considered the people who control information.

"Don't hold back the information you have, and give the knowledge you have.Once I told myself "no" and began to teach everything I could learn without having the intention to get paid, my audience found me."

The designer created a basic sales funnel

In order to avoid being overwhelmed by elaborate sales funnels Adrian decided to design the funnel to be simple.

In the weeks leading up the time she launched The Modern Influencer, she made the waitlist using a Google form. After that, she shared the link on her website along with all of her social media channels. After that, when she launched her course there were a lot of people anxiously waiting for her emails.

She suggests that course designers stay clear of funnels that scare their customers. Instead , she suggests that they design a straightforward funnel such as waiting lists so that they will generate leads and have people ready to purchase their course once it's launched.

The instructor offered freebies to every course.

Now, Adrian's sales funnel has become more extensive and contains free materials which correspond with each of her programs. "When people download the freebie, or interact in the material and then join an automation for email that further upsell them, by sending them emails" Adrian explains.

For the Modern Influencer, she gives a webinar of 60 minutes in which she provides the 100-day Instagram roadmap -which is i.e. every step needed to gain 10,000 followers, and make $1,000 within 100 days. Once they've completed this no-cost instruction, they're resold this training course.

For The Email List 101 course, there is a no-cost 10-page PDF download to teach users how to create the growth and maintenance of the email lists. To take the Reels Roadmap course, she has a freebie that helps people increase views, capture the attention of their viewers, and help make their reels go famous.

She was able to fight off burning out

Although Adrian's business is growing fast, it has cost her the mental health of her.

While she worked hard in pursuit of her dream job but she fell into a pattern of overworking. "I did my best every hour of the working day" she wrote in her letter.

In the aftermath of suffering from burnout and panic attacks for several months following the launch of her very first course and her first course, she decided to employ an outside firm to help with the administration of her business. "If I'm not creating the content I want to make, my company dies," she explains.

The position she holds now is that of a digital business administrator as well as a funnel strategist who is an expert in community and engagement as well as the virtual assistant for editor of videos, a Brand Collaborations Manager, as well as an SEO specialist. She also has a Pinterest manager. After bringing on the help of a team, she's now set more personal and professional limits in the self-care she takes. What does this mean? The freedom to focus on content creation instead of being lost in the details. "I've discovered a lot about myself to ensure that I'm not at the point of no return," she says.

     She stays unchanging

One of the main things that Adrian discovered during her content creation journey -as in her experience with burnout -the fact that this is a marathon not a sprint. She suggests other creators adhere to this method and also, especially for avoiding burnout and creating an organization that lasts.

"You're doing this to last," she explains. "You do not need to be able to observe immediate results, nor are you looking for immediate satisfaction."

She encourages companies to take on their business each day by breaking it down into bite-sized, small pieces. "It doesn't have to occur at once," she adds. "This is the sport lasting. If this is what you're aiming to do, you'll be able to improve your efficiency by one percent each day. If you accomplish it with a single focus for three years you're going to see so much more success than anybody attempted to do it all at once ."

So far, her most notable accomplishment is obtaining her YouTube Play Button which isthe highest honor bestowed to one of one of the most well-known YouTube channels. "It was an entire circle event in my life" she tells us, smiling. "I want to revisit my life and share with 12 year old Millie of the hopes she had in her mind may come true. ."

Another thing she wishes she would be able to revisit at some point to tell herself is to be a believer in the process. If you're aspired online creator she recommends focusing on the results of slow, constant improvement. "Don't consider the length of amount of time required to finish your project," she advises.
